One man's trash really is another man's treasure!

One thing my mom taught me (among all the other things of course!) is how to be thrifty.  Now I will be the first to admit, I like new things.  I don't always like buying old clothes, and there are just some things I refuse to buy second hand.  Like underwear!  hahaha!!!!

I know some people aren't excited by this, but I love shopping second hand and finding great deals and finds.  The girls bedding was brand new (still in the bag) at Goodwill, along with the accent pillows. Oh, and their white curtains!  And I found these items all on different shopping trips.  So the key really is going often.

One of my most favorite stores to shop is Platos Closet. 

Why not let someone else buy something brand new, wear it 5 times, and then get rid of it so I can buy it for a fraction of the cost.  Makes sense to me!  Now this kind of shopping may make some people dizzy.  My husband hates it.  He hates searching through all those racks.  I LOVE it.  You feel so accomplished when you find something you like.
I did not become a complete thrift store junkie till I became friends with my good friend Ami.  She is the queen of thrift store shopping.  She could honestly make a living of buying things at thrift stores for cheap and selling them to make money.  Plus she has such an eclectic style that it just works for her.  She can seriously pull off anything! 

I'm writing all this to say, Bailey just got a thrift store.  And I seriously drive by it everyday.  I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant to go in there.  One thing about thrift stores is they can be a little... what's the word... shady.  You feel like you have to hold onto your purse as tightly as you can, and you don't want to set anything down cause it's not always the cleanest.  Well our little town of Bailey knows how to do it right because it's a fabulous little thrift store.  In fact it's better than a thrift, it's a boutique with thrift store prices!

I've been on the search for some new silverware and I haven't wanted to buy new because they are so expensive.  I found this very unique 8 piece set for $4!

As if we needed another dress... I am such a sucker!

Brand new, tag still on it Hannah Montana shoes. 

Brand new Art Set for the girls.  Which is absolutely perfect for summer becaues they love to color and create!


Now I'm guessing that I won't be able to go to this thrift store too often because we are a small town and I don't assume they'll be getting new stuff that often, but it doesn't matter to me!  I'm just excited to have it!
